In a soft market, some customers have come to view marine coverage as a commodity and will seek out markets that can provide a low-cost solution. However, given the increasing complexity of cargo risks, brokers work closely with underwriters to understand the nature of their clients’ operations and provide specialized underwriting, dedicated marine claims, risk engineering and deliver programs that are globally compliant.
