A small sample of the Society events that are taking place across the UK and beyond – from a tasting on the London Eye to a tour of cities in the United States

JANUARY

Scots across the world will be raising a wee dram to the great bard of Scotland, Robert Burns, at the end of January – and the Society will be joining them to celebrate with members at special events around the UK. Here are a few of the highlights to look forward to:

Theatrical tasting

If you fancy a theatrical tour de force to celebrate Burns Night, then head to The Vaults in Edinburgh. You’ll be entertained by Edinburgh Theatre Arts, who will bring the poet’s immortal words to life, while there will also be a traditional haggis supper – “great chieftain o’ the puddin-race!” – and a fabulous selection of Society whiskies. • 25 January The Vaults, Edinburgh

Go for it girls!

DON’T MISS!

At 28 Queen Street, they’re celebrating Scotland’s poet by reviving the popular “Girls’ Burns” – for ladies only! A female cast of performers, including musicians and poets, will entertain ladies in the comfortable surroundings

of The Dining Room. Expect a convivial atmosphere and a three-course menu mixing some traditional Burns fayre with more delicate dishes. The haggis will, of course, feature, as will a selection of malts to delight the palate. • 25 January 28 Queen Street, Edinburgh

All welcome

Members across Scotland and England can enjoy an exclusive Burns preview tasting of the new Outturn, which is scheduled for release on 3 February. Members are invited to recite their favourite passages on the night and bring their friends along. A delicious supper will be served, with whisky and membership available to buy on the night. • 19 and 20 January Caledonian Thistle Hotel, Aberdeen • 26 January Garvock House Hotel, Dunfermline • 26 January County Hotel by Thistle, Newcastle • 27 January Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow

FEBRUARY

Lovely evening Can’t wait for Valentine’s Day? Then come along to the Society’s Members’ Rooms in London the evening before and fall in love with Society mixologist Sam MacDonald’s new and traditional whisky cocktail creations such as a Society Manhattan. And after such titillation, stimulate your tastebuds further with a hearty supper. • 13 February 19 Greville Street, London
