Bosch Expands Hot Water Storage Tank Line for North American Marketplace

1st Quarter 2012

Bosch Thermotechnology North America, now offers the WST line of enameled steel indirect storage tanks and the SST stainless steel line of indirect storage tanks. The product line offers plumbing and HVAC professionals simplified installation and superiordurability that ensure fewer callbacks while providing end-users years of reliable operation.

“Bosch’s two new lines of indirect storage tanks have greater installation versatility

with durability that ranks among the best in the industry,” said John Confrey, Vice President of HotWater for Bosch Thermotechnology. “When developing the new SST and WST tank lines, we really listened to our wholesalers, dealers and installers to make sure we offered a product that meets the demands of our market-place and displays the hallmark of our advanced engineering.”

The WST line of domestic hot water indirect storage tanks is available in three models

with capacities of 50, 80 and 119 gallons. The WST tanks offer unique features such as an integrated solar pump station mounting bracket for simplified installation, an electrically isolated 4.5 kW heating element that extends tank life span and a large surface area heat exchanger for a higher heat transfer capacity. Offering excellent performance specifications, the first hour recovery for the 50, 80 and 119 gallons WST tanks are 67, 90 and 167 gallons respectively. In addition, The WST line display standby heat loss characteristics of 0.7, 0.6 and 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit an hour respectively. The WST storage tanks are designed specifically for the North American contractor market and for easy integration with all Bosch and Buderus solar, tankless, geothermal and boiler applications.

The SST line of stainless steel domestic hot water indirect storage tanks is available in

capacities of 40, 65, 80 and 119 gallons. A welded and passivated stainlesssteel tank and heat exchanger paired with two-inch thick, high density 13.4 R value insulating foam core ensures optimal heat retention for on-demand use.. The heating coil efficiently transfers high volumes of heat from the source to the domestic water stored in the tank with a first hour delivery ranking among the industry’s best. To ensure precision construction, a computer- guided six axis robotic welder affixes stainless steel fittings and coil to the stainless steel found in the SST line.
