show coordinator, presenter and consultant will enable me to be an asset to the NAPT organization and repre- sent the vendor companies that support our activities and goals in so many ways. As a vendor, conference coordinator and member of the

NASDPTS Supplier Council, I understand the needs of the vendor companies as well as the need for, and importance of, good communication and prompt follow-through. I appreciate the support I have received in this venture,

and I look forward to seeing everyone in Cincinnati! Ms. Weisinger is a technical specialist and consultant with Innovative Transportation Solutions.

Barry Sudduth: Region 2 After 12 years as a band di-

rector and classroom teacher, I began my career in pupil trans- portation in 2001. Driven by my fascination for the yellow school bus, I was excited to be- come a supervisor in the trans- portation department. I have since completed my master’s

degree in public administration and worked to develop other skills and certifications in transportation safety. I am an NAPT-certified director of pupil transportation, certified child safety restraint technician and automobile inspector certified by the Virginia State Police. One more class will complete my NAPT Special Needs Endorsement. Being a part of both the Virginia Association for Pupil

Transportation and NAPT has given me the knowledge and training necessary to ensure the safety of our students. I be- gan taking NAPT Professional Development Courses in 2003 and have completed 29 more classes since then. I have also served as an instructor for nine of these courses. My goal in becoming the Director for Region II is to be

able to be a part of the vital work that NAPT encompasses — helping to develop new goals, standards and guidelines in the field of pupil transportation. I am proud to be part of an organization that advocates for the safety of all children. Mr. Sudduth is assistant transportation director for Stafford County (Va.) Schools.

My committee chairperson responsibilities include the MAPT–State and St. Louis Region school bus driver safety competition, Missouri’s Best competition, Nomination Committee, Audit Committee and Conference Program and Planning Committee. I have taken the lead in scheduling and overseeing the fleet maintenance workshop at the annual MAPT Confer- ence for several years. Tis past year, I completed the requirements and achieved the NAPT certification of Certi-

fied Director of Pupil Transportation (CDPT). I am honored to be nominated for the position of NAPT Region IV Director and look forward to working with directors nationwide to provide support and ongoing professional development for all members of the transportation team. ■
