When Mount Holyoke first opened its doors, we raised some eyebrows. This was the first institution in the world to offer women the same level of rigorous academics that men received at schools like Harvard and Yale. That prospect was radical. This coming year, the College celebrates its 175th anniversary. We still stand out: Mount Holyoke is known globally for educating women of influence. Here, students are challenged to think boldly, seek challenges, and continue our legacy of making history.
