DJING was once, in the words of James Brown, “a man’s world”, but as any spinner worth his salt knows the dancefl oor “ain’t nothing without a woman or a girl”, the prospect of an all-out sausage fest not doing anyone any favours. Fortunately more and more women are fi nding their rightful place behind the decks inspired by the likes of Dinky, the Chilean-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer, who has been playing since the ‘90s, is currently recording an album for Crosstown Rebels and

recently released her ‘Time To Lose It EP’ on the so-hot-right- now Visionquest. Unsurprisingly given this backing and background, her fall chart is an impeccable mix of house, techno and downbeat. From Robert Hood’s disco-fi ed ‘Dancer’ to Theo Parrish’s jazzy wig-out ‘When I’m Gone’, it’s a certifi ed selection to keep you warm inside even after the summer sun has long faded from consciousness.
