The Health Care Supply Association has announced more details about its upcoming conference.


The event will be held at the Hilton Manchester, Deansgate, from No- vember 2-3.


A spokesman for the event said: “The NHS budget is under consid- erable pressure and those involved in procurement need to leverage further significant efficiencies. The Health Care Supply Association Conference & Exhibition 2011 will provide delegates with the oppor- tunity to debate the latest develop- ments affecting the NHS procure- ment and commissioning agenda while sharing the experiences of others in this unique sector.”


Speakers include HCSA president Lord Hunt, who also chairs Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, as well as HCSA chairman Eugene Cooke, associate director and na- tional head of procurement at NHS Blood and Transplant.


Other speakers include Peter Coates, managing director of the Procurement, Investment and Com- mercial Division (PICD) of the De- partment of Health; Simon Walsh, head of procurement and eCom- merce at Central Manchester Uni- versity Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Julian Trent, managing direc- tor of PETO; Jonathon Wedgbury, chief executive of Health Trust Eu- rope; Peter Ellingworth, chief ex- ecutive of the Association of British Healthcare Industries; John War- rington, director of procurement policy and research at the Depart- ment of Health; Mark Roscrow, director of Welsh Health Supplies; Howard Rolfe, procurement director at East of England NHS Collabora- tive Procurement Hub; Peter Akid, managing director of NHS SBS Commercial Procurement Solu- tions; health writer and broadcaster Roy Lilley; Mike Farrar, chief execu- tive of the NHS Confederation; and Andrew Foster, chief Executive of Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
