color and excellent writing, it is a collector’s dream come true! I’m presently subscribing and will support Famous Monsters as long as it exists! Hats off to Jessie Lilley for doing an outstanding job. I appreciate her fine talents! Thank you very much, your #1 fan from Michigan , Bob Mitchell.

The cartoon for Fang Mail by Igor I absolutely love. Can you please identify all of the characters in this cartoon. The characters that I was able to identify were: The Mummy, Wolfman, Frankenstein, Cousin It, Dracula, Tor Johnson, Plan 9 from Outerspace Alien, Boris Karloff, Young Frankenstein, King Kong, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Don Knotts as the Mailman. Am I correct on this? Paul Dale Roberts Elk Grove, CA 95758

All of those are correct. Does anyone else want to guess the rest? We will post the entire list next issue. First person to mail us a list of all the characters will win a prize. E-mail fangmail@famousmonsters.com

To The Good Folks At Famous Monsters of Filmland: Congratulations on putting out a spectacular magazine issue after issue! Not only is it great to read up on classic (and modern) films that I know and love, it’s also wonderful to be exposed to new ones (well, new to me anyway) that I was previously unaware of. Now for the bad part...

I was rather surprised to find that in issue # 256, the article on Gamera failed to mention “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Now, whether you genuinely or ironically love everyone’s favorite flying turtle, you have to at least acknowledge MST3K’s contribution to Gamera’s stateside fame. For many, Joel and The ‘Bots are their only exposure to Gamera, and many MSTieS (as the fans are known) rank the Gamera films among their favorites (the upcoming all-Gamera MST3K box set is a testament to this). I know that many genre fans don’t care for “Mystery Science Theater,” as they feel that it belittles the movies they cherish, but in my oh- so-humble opinion, the crew of the Satellite of Love celebrate as well as poke fun at their films, more akin to a Friar’s Club Roast than to a witch burning. If anything, “Mystery Science

Theater 3000” is the modern equivalent of the horror movie hosts of yesteryear (folks like Svengoolie and Zacharly). Okay, that’s all I have to say. You may have the soapbox back now. Eagerly awaiting the next issue,

We are all big fangs of MST3K at FM. “Gamera! Gamera! Gamera is really neat. Gamera is filled with meat. We’ve been eating Gamera! Shell Teeth Eyes

Dear Sirs! Wow!! You made a 62 year old man CRY! I was in Borders Books and... THERE!! I couldn’t believe my eyes- Famous Monsters of Filmland. I was a reborn monster maniac- from my days growing up in New York during the 1950’s. My friend and I bought (from our allowance) F.M.O.F. Then, in Los Angeles recently, I contacted a Pal in New Jersey, “Yipes” he shot back, “Forrest Ackerman, Editor!” Yes!! Goes to prove, “ole monsters neve die” FMOF is the reason why.

Thx & Best Regards, Kurtis CA. Wolf

Dear Fangmail, I just wanted to say a few things about King Kong vs. Godzilla. I can honestly say that whatever I was going to be when I “grew up” changed when I saw this movie. I was 5 years old when my big sis took me to see this and I haven’t been the same since ( I gotta blame someone) Anyway, ever since then monsters have always been a part of my life.Growing up in the 60s was the best time to grow up, cause monsters where everywhere and I loved it!! And because I saw this movie it lead to other things (including FM) and of course my passion...my art!! I shudder to think what I’d be now if I hadn’t seen that movie, gives me the shivers!! This issue is going to be hard to top!! I’m glad I stuck around despite all the “bumps” that came along the way!!

Yours, Malcolm Gittins

I was wondering when the latest issue would be out, but I notice that Famous Monsters has completely disappeared from the iTunes store. What’s up?

Regards,

Dear Famous Monsters of Filmland, I was hoping you would be able to fulfill a life-long dream of getting my letter and photo published in an issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland. I have a complete collection of this great magazine, and I’m over the top thrilled that its back again! The first issue I bought on the newsstand was #18, my first subscription started with #20...I’m so amazed that the magazine has returned with such class, with
