very year Episcopal Night at the Padres draws people from

all corners of the diocese to Petco Park for a night of fellowship and fun. This diocesan-wide event strengthens connections across congregational lines and gives people an opportunity to enjoy casual, hang-out time. A baseball game is a great place to get to know your neighbors.

At press time, ticket sales surpassed the 800 mark. This year ticket sales were aided by creative efforts on the part of the Padres coordinators. The Revs. Jim Kellett and Bill Zettinger of St. Bartholomew’s, Poway, sold the most tickets, and even donned specially-made stoles declaring them “bat boys.” Scott Mitchell and Polly Morelli at Christ Church, Coronado won second place and Bill Blakeslee at St. David’s, San Diego took third. We are grateful to all for the time and effort to coordinate Episcopal Night. Go Padres! X

Padres Promotion Fun: The Rev. Jim Kellett of St. Bartholomew’s, Poway, enjoys wearing his

“bat boy” stole as he sells tickets for Episcopal Night at the Padres. This year over 800 Episcopalians turned out for the game versus the San Francisco Giants. Left: Padres night logo designed by Greg Tuttle.
