NUT Cymru at the party conferences
NUT Cymru officers attended all the political party conferences in Wales this spring to raise awareness of NUT campaigns such as Fair Play for Children in Wales and the wider NUT pensions campaign.
Officers also highlighted alternatives to the coalition Government’s programme of cuts with key politicians.
They spoke to Shadow Secretary of State for Wales Peter Hain and Welsh Assembly members First Minister Carwyn Jones and Education Minister Leighton Andrews. Wales officer Gareth Lloyd is pictured with leader of the Liberal Democrats in Wales Kirsty Williams.
NUT Cymru marches for the alternative
In London…
NUT Cymru members gathered in London on Saturday 26 March to protest against the government’s savage public sector cuts. Welsh Secretary David Evans, Executive members Beth Davies and Angela Davies and NUT Cymru staff led NUT Cymru members as they marched towards London’s Hyde Park.
…and in Cardiff
NUT Cymru also had a strong presence at the Wales TUC Protest in the Park on 5 March in Cardiff with reps from Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot and Pembrokeshire.
The march coincided with the Welsh Conservative and Welsh Liberal Democrat conferences in the Welsh capital.
