Perspectives on Operations in Afghanistan Speaker: COL Bart Howard, USA (Ret.)


Presented by BENS California, COL Howard will share his experiences as a witness to the dramatic events of the summer of 2006 when the US made the sober real- ization that the Taliban had re-emerged. In addition, he


will share his insight into the challenges that remain and the most likely way this decade long confl ict may end. In 2006, COL Howard served as the last Chief of Staff of Combined Forces-Afghanistan, charged with the overall operational and strategic direction of Operation Enduring Freedom. He subsequently oversaw the transfer of authority of CFC-A to NATO.
