COCA-COLA® CURE

Coca-Cola is a a thirst quencher beloved by young and old alike around the world. It would never have come into being were it not for the inspiration of an Atlanta druggist, John S. Pemberton. In 1886, with no thoughts of giving pleasure, he combined coca leaves and kola nuts to make a remedy for hangovers AND for head- aches in general. He called it coca-cola. Another Atlanta druggist bought Pemberton out for $2,000. The secret formula was sold and resold. The beverage’s real growth began under the leadership of Asa G. Candler, a native of Villa Rica, Georgia. By 1891 he owned the formula outright and the rest is lucrative history.
