Tyler Pipe moves to get products ICC-ES certified
TYLER, TEXAS— ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has announced that Tyler Pipe Company, a member of the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute (CISPI), has had their cast iron soil pipe and fittings certified to the requirements of CISPI 301-2009. Tyler Pipe has been manufacturing
quality soil pipe and fittings for decades. “We are proud to see Tyler Pipe join the long list of reputable companies that have chosen ICC-ES for their certification needs,” says Dawn La Fleur-Qualley, ICC-ES PMG certification program manager.
“We are working on additional certifications for Tyler Pipe and hope to exceed their expectations from a
10
certification agency.” The ICC-ES PMG (plumbing, mechanical, and fuel gas) program offers a straightforward and trouble-free product certification process for
any and all products referenced in
the International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Residential Code (IRC) and other codes related to plumbing. “We have noticed the growth of the PMG program as well as the credibility it offers,” said Bill Bliss, Tyler Pipe vice president. “Inspectors are looking for the PMG mark of conformity, so we decided to certify with ICC-ES PMG.”

Taco funds research fellowships; expands FloPro training
CRANSTON, R.I. —The Taco/White Family Foundation will provide a three-year gift totaling $100,000 in support of the Robert D. Ballard endowed fellowship program at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography. The gift will help defray the
educational expenses of one or more talented graduate students whose academic course of study is directly associated with the school’s Center for Exploration and Archeological Oceanography. The gift from Taco and the White
Family Foundation will be in support of the Ballard Endowed Fellowship Challenge Grant, in which individual donations supporting graduate fellowships at the Graduate School of Oceanography will be matched three-to-on against $100,000 put up by Dr. Ballard and Dr. James Austin, a fellow oceanographer and colleague of Ballard. The endowment challenge hopes to raise a total of $400,000, strengthening the school’s capability to compete favorably with the best oceanographic institutions.
