Oriental style is being taken in a new direc- tion for 2011. The East provides a strong influence, as interiors take traditional elements from the Orient and merge them with modern day materials. Inspired by chinoiserie, the palette takes in navy and indigo along with deep reds and vibrant oranges. Still retaining the essential ingredients such as bamboo and traditional


motifs the designs are often set against sleek black lacquer. As the scheme shines and sheens through the richness of lacquer, eye popping colour combinations and stylised shapes draw the eye. PLAYING WITH SCALE


Interior illusions are BIG news for 2011. Overblown graphic prints on walls with small perfectly formed delicate accessories combine little and large to create retro drama in the home.
