Excelsior College recognizes with special thanks the donors


WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE COLLEGE BETWEEN JULY 1, 2009, AND JUNE 30, 2010. Dear Alumni and Friends,


I am so very grateful to you for your support of Excelsior College. The Honor Roll of Donors represents your generosity as well as the generosity of many other individuals, organizations, and corporations. In the last few years, our nation’s economic crisis has put pressure on our College budget, our


faculty and staff, and most of all, our students. Given the recent upheaval in our economy, more students need more financial aid than ever before. Your support helps enormously in this regard. Your contribution provides not only the financial resources for many of Excelsior’s initiatives and accomplishments, but it also serves as your endorsement of the College’s past, present, and future.


With your support and dedication to Excelsior’s mission, in FY ’10 the College was able to raise more than


$1.2 million in gifts and grants, including commitments from alumni and friends such as you. These funds supported essential academic endeavors, student scholarships, and a supportive learning environment. Your willingness to give during a time of uncertainty has renewed our focus on serving our students.


Let me summarize some of the highlights of the past year:


Excelsior’s 2009-2010 Annual Campaign, the College’s largest source of unrestricted funding, raised $273,330.


Our Partners in Lifelong Learning Scholarship event honoring technology pioneer John Cavalier raised $59,899. Gifts to the endowment totaled $29,343, and three new endowments were created. In grants, we secured nearly $1 million to support initiatives and programs that will help our students.


And we were truly pleased to receive the first gift in honor of the College’s 40th Anniversary – $10,000 from event chair Jerry Neff ’75 and his wife Judy. Excelsior’s future will be, in part, secure because of your dedication and generosity. Yet, there is still


much to be done to ensure that generations of new students will benefit from the Excelsior College experience. Your commitment is more important now than ever before. As we move ahead with our plans to recognize and celebrate the College’s historic milestone, know that I am most grateful that your generous support has made, and will continue to make, our bright future possible.


It is because of the TEAM SPIRIT of donors like you that we are able provide life-changing


opportunities to our students all year long. We look forward to thanking you as a member of the Excelsior College community for many years to come.
