GET LOW JUSTIN MARTIN, S.E.C.T. (DIRTYBIRD)
Yep, we’ve stolen our headline from this month’s cover feature on San Fran’s most exciting export but having heard him smash up Fabric recently when Dirtybird took over the main room with Julio Bashmore and Claude VonStroke (who went off on a deadly ragga jungle excursion at one point) also in effect, we wanted to fl ag him up again. It’s been a massive year for Justin, brother of Chris (no, not the one from Coldplay), with remixes of ‘Get Low’ just released from fellow Dirtybird
J.Phlip and the Soul Clap/ Tanner Ross/Sergio Santos Boston supergroup S.E.C.T. but still doing the biggest damage is ‘Mr Spock’, the Snoop Dogg sampling track he produced with new-comer Ardalan. We’re promised an album in 2011 which we can’t wait to hear. In the meantime, check his current chart, which includes Morgan Geist’s ice cool new project, Storm Queen, and subscribe to DJmag online to read our full feature.
