THE 2 BEARS, aka Raf Daddy and Joe Goddard from Hot Chip, follow up the success of their debut release with another four-track stunner, ‘Curious Nature’. United by a love of Detroit techno, Chicago house, hip- hop, UK garage and bashment, it was the pair’s back- to-back sets that led to the fur-mation of their current production partnership. With an ode to Raf’s squeeze on ‘Church’, ‘Work It Out’ and the title track ‘Curious Nature’ pay tribute to their DJ heroes, Derrick Carter, Larry Heard and Carl Craig, while the pair cover Fun Boy Three’s ‘The Lunatics (Have Taken Over The Asylum)’ after their last make-over of Sade. With support from Annie Mac (who used Raf to introduce both sides of the latest Annie Mac Presents compilation), the Chemical Brothers, Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank, Toddla T, Ashley Beedle, Laurent Garnier and Trevor Jackson, make sure you follow the bears, too.
