The Charleston Tea Plantation
–an American Story
Over 100 years ago, tea planters brought their fi nest ancestral tea bushes from China and India to Wadmalaw Island near the historic old city of Charleston, South Carolina.
Saved from commercial land development by the Bigelow family in 2003, the direct descendants of these very plants have been lovingly restored to their former grandeur at the Charleston Tea Plantation, a lush subtropical tea farm.
It is in the context of great natural beauty and colonial pride that we bring you American Classic Teas – truly exquisite teas grown at America’s only tea garden.
The farm is now open to the public year-round for all to tour and enjoy. Please visit us the next time you’re in the Charleston area. For more information go to
