The National Book Festival

Sept. 25, 2010, on the Mall

Ten years ago on Sept. 9, 2001, the Li- brary of Congress, at the instigation of then First Lady Laura Bush, hosted the first ever National Book Festival. A lot has changed since then — in the world of politics that Washington leads and in the world of books that the National Book Festival celebrates. But one thing re-

mains the same: The Washington Post’s and Book World’s enthusiastic support for this popular event. So, please, join us on the Mall next Satur- day, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., where Post editors and writers will intro- duce the many authors and illustrators eager to tell you about their work

and to autograph your books. We look forward to seeing you there! — Rachel Hartigan Shea, editor of Book World
