SERVER-BASED GAMING

able to scale to meet future demand. [SBG] games provide something for everyone because each machine is really a window into the overall network. In short, our platform can deliver games faster while enjoying better management reporting, money reconciliation and player trend analysis, which helps to develop better customer loyalty.”

Indeed, the benefits of SBG are even being felt

outside the casino sector proper in other areas of the leisure industry, where the same benefits – quick updates of gaming content, vast potential for customisation, and improved management and reporting – are felt. his year’s long-awaited rollout of thousands of video lottery terminals (VLTs) across Italy has provided perhaps

the most dramatic test yet of server-based gaming’s capabilities.

Says Martin Lucas, Managing Director of the British licensed betting office and international VLT businesses at Inspired Group: “Italy is a fantastic example of an

exciting SBG market just opening up due to changes in legislation. The networked VLT terminals look set to revolutionise the gaming experience in the country, by providing a wider variety of games, more exciting stakes and prizes and wide-area progressive jackpots.”

And Inspired – which has brought on board Italy’s own Magic Dreams to supply its best-

performing games, such as Double Draw Poker, for the VLT platform – is not alone in that view.

BetStone names Italy along with Latin America as the market with the biggest SBG potential, while Bally Technologies begins supplying 3600 machines to VLT concessionaires HBG Connex and Sisal Slot this autumn.
