children’s creativity and enquiry through the use of effective questioning. The book is divided into sections containing practical ideas on how to use this questioning and “thinking traps” to engage with young children’s natural curiosity and creativity. They include identifying ways to develop children’s questioning skills, using real-life case studies and examples of child-led projects, investigations and play. Where appropriate, the book also links activities to the early learning goals and the four guiding EYFS principals. Amy Arnold has taught across the primary phase and her passion to make learning meaningful and memorable is easy to see in this book. It succeeds in providing clear advice to practitioners and teachers.

Count Me In! provides practical ways in which teachers can get young people more involved in classroom learning. It advocates the importance of children having a level of command over their learning, showing how by doing this they can improve their education, feel empowered and have fun at the same time.
The second edition of this book brings together leading international authors on educational leadership. There are now new chapters from leaders in the field, including Paul Begley, Alma Harris and Allan Walker. The essential topics covered in this book are leadership and student outcomes, moral and
At the core of the book is the recognition of the power of student involvement and the value their empowerment can bring to their education. Barriers to participation, principals for involvement and student involvement in learning through assessment are some of the chapters included to provide a range of practical ways in which children can be more hands-on in their education. This involvement might range, for example, from allowing them to have a say in their assessment and school life to the teacher seeking their opinions on lessons and how they are learning. For teachers in mainstream and special schools, teacher trainers and educational researchers, Count Me In! is an essential guide in how to get students more actively engaged and excited in the classroom.

This castle fell down after years of neglect and emptiness. Please rebuild the castle adding lots of walls, turrets and towers. Don’t forget to draw in all the small windows.
Add some brickwork to the walls and some tiles on the roofs.
When it’s done, add colourful flags on top of the towers to celebrate.
