What is your nickname?

They usually call me D or D-1. A member of the team couldn’t pronounce my name right and it sounded like he was saying D-1.

Do you have any pregame rituals?

I usually listen to music and grip a couple of rackets. I kind of get a little space to myself for a couple of minutes and that’s about it.

What do you have playing in your iPod?

If it is before matches I will usually listen to some sort of rap or some kind of pump up music. I pretty much listen to 90s rap or more underground stuff and a little bit of rock, but not as much mainstream stuff.

Favorite tennis player?

Goran Ivanisevic.

What is the best movie you’ve recently seen?

I just watched the Hurt Locker a couple of weeks ago. That was pretty good.

What is your favorite TV show?

Southpark.

What is your favorite food?

Sushi.

What would your dream job be?

Some sort of job at the UN.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to work for the summer and teach some tennis and then enter the Peace Corps in November. I’m waiting on an invitation. I’ve been nominated, so I’m expecting something in the next two months about where I will be going.

If you could go backstage at any concert which one would you choose?

Outkast concert.

Where is your favorite place to play outside of Duke?

Wimbledon. I played Junior Wimbledon and it was awesome.

What is the best part of your game?

My forehand.
