MANAGING ICT

Win £2,600 worth of resources!

SecEd’s latest ICT giveaway launches this week offering UK secondary schools the chance to win £2,600 worth of software and equipment from software publishers Serif

SECED’S LATEST ICT giveaway will see one lucky reader win a 50-user Serif Design Suite site licence for their school – worth £2,199 – as well as 10 Wacom graphics tablets worth £40 each.

Design Suite

Serif’s Design Suite package provides a creative solution for ICT across the curriculum, with all the graphics software tools and support you need to deliver engaging lessons. The Design Suite has been praised for its powerful

and easy-to-use software for schools, enabling all pupils, whatever their level of experience, to achieve outstanding work across all subjects. In doing so, they also develop their design skills to

prepare for the competitive workplace. Professional software programs team with teacher resources that guide you through every step – for any schools offering the OCR Nationals in ICT, for example, Serif’s teacher resources are OCR-endorsed. Included in the Design Suite are five software

programs covering all areas of the creative curriculum. DrawPlus X4 is a vector-based drawing package,

with easy-to-use tools for stopframe, keyframe, Flash animations and web graphics. MoviePlus X3 provides students with digital video

and editing tools, including blue-screening, split- screening and narration recording.

PhotoPlus X3 helps students to create high quality

graphics – intuitive bitmap tools mean they can create high quality work for print and web, with a new black and white studio. PagePlus X4 is a desktop publishing program great

for magazines and presentations – students can even import and edit PDFs so it is good for file sharing. It includes a new PhotoLab and LogoStudio for creating graphics within desktop publishing documents. WebPlus X4 helps students create professional

websites and e-portfolios, with no need to know HTML. For younger pupils, it includes Flash navigation bars and a Quickbuilder bar.

With all programs sharing a common interface,

pupils will quickly become familiar with the software. Ready-to-use templates also make creating work in any of these programs easier.

Wacom graphics tablets

The lucky winner will also receive 10 Wacom graphics tablets for their school. Discover new, fascinating ways of being creative, with the Bamboo One pen tablet. Jumping into the world of Bamboo is as simple

as picking up a pen. With a brushed silver design, the tablet and digital pen offers students a simple and intuitive way of interacting with a computer, enabling a personal touch to be added to digital photographs, invitations, birthday cards and emails. Simply plug and play, Bamboo One also presents an easy and quick way of navigating office applications.
