Circle donors:
Every community has leaders, those who step forward to help others in need. In 2009, an
outstanding group of United Way donors joined together to form the Philanthropists’ Circle, Vanguard
with a goal of raising $2 million in matching funds, to encourage individuals and corporations
($250,000 +)
to dig deep and show increased care and commitment to our community. These twenty-seven

These funds inspired thousands of individuals in hundreds of workplaces to make a new
donation or increase their charitable gift to United Way. As a result, the total pool of gifts Principal
