environmental commitments

All our products and systems conform to British and European standards, and sound environmental management.

Carleton Furniture Group are accredited to BS EN 14001 and are firmly committed to controlling the effects of manufacturing on the environment.

Under TT - COC - 001737 timber materials are certified with FSC chain of custody demonstrating that we are supporting better management of the world’s forests.

Following independent audit by FIRA to demonstrate compliance with environmental, social and economic requirements we have attained full membership of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP).

carbon trust

The Carbon Trust expects to deliver over £100m in loan funding to SMEs over the next two years. Businesses taking advantage of the offer not only benefit from brand new equipment, increased efficiency and reduced running costs, but also help drive the UK’s move to a low carbon economy. Thanks to the scheme, Carleton Furniture Group have installed two new air compressors which will reduce our annual electricity bill by 12% per year.

recycling

Working in conjunction with specialist recycling and waste disposal firms, Carleton Furniture Group are able to offer a fully audited, environmentally responsible disposal route for redundant furniture to help radically reduce the UK’s reliance on landfill disposal. Their main objective is to put all unwanted furniture to good use. High quality second hand items are offered for sale whilst an in-house joinery department designs and manufactures furniture using recycled components.

All furniture that cannot be re-used or remanufactured is broken down into individual parts and sent for recycling through dedicated, fully audited companies.
