We all love mini albums – those special books full of pictures and memories all tucked
together in one place. From the coffee table, to the desk, to a child’s bookshelf, mini albums are
one the best items of home décor. And while they brighten things by looking so pretty, they also
have so much meaning.
I expected to love all the mini albums for this book – and I did – but what surprised me was how
much they taught me. Let me share with you three life lessons pulled from the pages of these
marvelous mini albums.
1. Look on the bright side. In “Remember the Good Stuff” by Nicole Samuels
(page 72), I was reminded how important it is to pay attention to the fun things
in life. By recording her family’s memories of the year, Nicole focused on their
good times, sharing her bright and optimistic view of life.
2. Be true to yourself. One thing’s for certain, we are all very unique creatures
with our own personalities, talents, and interests. Celebrate your individuality by
sharing those things that add joy to your life. Check out Shelley Haganman’s very
unique album about motorcycles (page 78) and get inspired to create an album
with something unique about yourself!
3. Share with others. Go to page 26 to see an album filled with some great
snippets of wisdom (who doesn’t need to be reminded to try, try again or to
simply be grateful for what you have?). You’ll love the way Danielle Flanders
combined some of her favorite life’s lessons with pictures of her children to create
a fun way to share advice.
Whether it’s a few of life’s little lessons, how to create three wonderfully different albums from
one sketch (page 38), or the inspiration for your next album, there’s much to be learned from this
collection of favorite mini albums. Enjoy!
