Morrison US entered
the Water Dragons’ den
– and came out a winner
SBWWI’s Water Dragons
scheme promotes innovation
and best practice. Morrison US,
a Water Dragon winner, will be
sharing its experience at IWEX
I
nspired by the BBC’s Dragons’ Den
programme, companies are invited to submit
entries for consideration to the SBWWI
secretariat. All entries will be passed to a judging
panel comprising management committee
members and invited industry guests. The
judges identify the best eight entries and ask
these companies to make a presentation in
front of the Water Dragons’ panel of four or five

She continues: “Presenters are invited to

presentation, with all supporting slides already
loaded up on to our laptop (which is set up in
the presentation room) and any display
equipment ready to use. Slides must not include
lines of explanatory text. They can include
supporting information, such as calculations,
sets of figures, maybe a video if the equipment
is too large, but it is expected that the verbal
presentation should include the actual detail.”
The dragons are provided with a scoring

the presenters will face the dragons’ questions.
At the end of the day the scoring sheets will be
evaluated with the Water Dragons and scores
collated. A winner will then be identified from
the cumulative scoring.
Two winners will be chosen: Overall Winner
SUPPLEMENT
for Best Innovation and Winner for the Best
Presentation. The winners will be announced
and awards presented at the SBWWI Annual
Lunch, which usually takes place around two to
three weeks after the Water Dragons event.
Tony Hanks, of Morrison Utility Services, the
NEWS AND WWT
2009 winner of the Best Innovation award, is
making a presentation at the IWEX seminar
this year. He will address delegates at 10.15am
on April 22 in the IWEX seminar theatre.
The team from Enterprise presents the Quick Release Clamp Barrier, which won the award for best
