Back in the ’80s and ’90s,
making your 1970 Bug look like
a desireable pre ’67 was all
the rage. You know the score:
swapping the upright headlight
wings for the sloping type,
swapping the rear valance for
the earlier type and fitting a
semi-W decklid complete with
pope’s nose, and so on.
These days, with so many early
cars available, few enthusiasts
make these changes. That said,
there are still one or two people
who attempt these alterations.
