Facility Approved for
Gulfstream 150 Support
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) has approved engine and auxiliary
power unit (APU) maintenance on the
Gulfstream G150 at the bizjet manufac-
turer’s service facility in Long Beach,
Calif. The approval covers maintenance
and alterations but not overhaul of the
G150’s Honeywell TFE 731-40A engines
and Honeywell RE100 APU. Having pre-
viously received approval for G150 air-
frame maintenance, the Long Beach cen-
ter, which also paints planes and provides
interior completions, now can service the
entire line-up of Gulfstream aircraft.
Lighter Prop Made for the
Mirage/Matrix
Piper PA-46 Mirage and Matrix aircraft
now comes with a new three-blade pro-
peller that is 11 pounds (5 kg) lighter
than its predecessor. Piper Aircraft has
chosen for piston-powered aircraft the
latest version of Hartzell Propeller’s
Top Prop units made of carbon fiber,
Kevlar and aluminum.
