for a ride into the heart of the wilderness. Your local naturalist guide will
help you spot bald eagles, moose and maybe even bears along your river
route. Then put on your hiking shoes as you explore the backwoods
of “bush” Alaska. Visit a fur trapper’s cabin to see firsthand how these
hardy outdoorsmen lived in this challenging environment at the turn of
the 20th century, and try to imagine yourself in their shoes –
including those web-footed snowshoes, a must for winter survival!
Continue on to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge near the
Alaska Range for a two-night stay. Activities today include a high-tech
treasure-hunting game of “Geocaching.” Test your family’s skills at
