We asked Simon how
this lovely 1965 Beetle that he
he became involved
has owned since 1991.
in VWs and he said,
“Through my brother
Mark (aka Ef), who
was into custom cars
from the age of 13. He
had his first Bug at 15
and had had two Bugs
and a Fastback before
he could drive.’ Simon
got hooked when he
went to Bug Jam for the
first time in 1990. After
that weekend, the path
forward was set and
even though he was
only 16, he owned his
first Beetle less than a
year later – on 3 March
1991, he bought a 1965,
and the amazing thing
is… it’s the same car
you see here!
