According to the RNIB, there are nearly 2
million UK individuals who are partially sighted
to one degree or another (equating to 3% of
the population). Many of these individuals use
special digital tools for reading online, notably
‘backwards compatibility viewers’ or Lynx viewers.
However, most Digital Editions cannot be read
on these viewers because they incorporate Flash
technology. YUDU therefore allows for the
parallel production of text-only versions of its
Digital Editions to make them accessible to all,
partially sighted individuals included. Simply click
‘T’ on the toolbar to view the plain text version.
Index Tabs for easy navigation of sections
As you can see on this publication, YUDU’s Digital
Editions can contain Index Tabs that really help
students quickly navigate their online
reading material.
Ability to embed the Digital Edition on
school and university websites
Digital Editions can be easily embedded onto a
website, in small thumbnail scale or larger. With
a simple click of the mouse, these embedded
Digital Editions spring to life at normal resolution.
