Department of Education Palmetto
Gold award. Students continue to
excel in academic, artistic and ath-
letic arenas. Last year, Cario Middle
School had 30 junior scholars.
About 33 percent of Wando
High School’s 2,900 students are
placed in the gifted and talented
program, and 93 percent enter
either a two- or four-year college or
university. Wando offers more than
250 courses. “Rigor, Relevancy and
Relationships” is the school’s motto,
which ensures consistency in courses
and helps students see the relevance
of their classes and make connec-
tions to their future goals.
