When


passionate support works both ways


T e COVID-19 pandemic has aff ected all aspects of society and football has been no diff erent. T e end of the 2019/20 football season and all of the 2020/21 season


has been played behind closed doors as clubs adjusted to a new way of doing things. For Northampton Town, who achieved promotion in the summer


of 2020, while matches have continued, one of the club’s priorities has been reaching out into the community to off er support to those who needed it. An extensive COVID-19 support programme was launched, headed


up by the club’s charitable arm, the Northampton Town FC Community Trust, as the club moved to help those in need.


6 ALL THINGS BUSINESS


The numbers involved and those who have been supported by the club are very impressive:


- 4,190 people have accessed the club’s online weekly fi tness session videos - 3,700 children took part in the Joy of Moving Summer Festival - Over 350 personalised video messages have been sent from players to supporters - 165 women and girls have been supported to take part in regular grassroots football each week - 264 player visits have been made to schools, workplaces, and homes in accordance with COVID guidelines - 200 young people have taken part in crime awareness workshops - 112 people have been supported through weekly befriending calls - 110 activity packs were donated to children with a disability to help them keep active - 100 food packages have been delivered to those in need - 70 Mental Health First Aiders have been trained - 65 people have been helped to get online for the fi rst time - 60 new participants have been taking part in
