ADISSEO OH-Methionine and DL-Methionine: Same efficiency in sustaining the laying performance and egg quality of Babcock layers The study was performed on 448 Babcock layers reared from 17 to 31 weeks in collective cages at Sri Ramadhoota, Poultry Research farm in India. Birds were allocated to 2 treatments: a diet based on corn, soybean meal and limestone either with DL-Methionine, or with OH-Methionine to fulfill total sulfur amino acids requirement of birds. During the experiment, laying hens had free access to feed and water and were subjected to tropical conditions: high temperatures and air relative humidity levels. Feed intakes, body weights, laying and egg quality parameters were recorded. There were no significant differences between body weights, feed intake, FCR, egg production or egg quality parameters of hens fed OH-Methionine or DL-Methionine. Feed intakes were lower than breed standards, due to heat stress. It shows that OH-Methionine is 100% efficient and is able to sustain growth performance of laying hens. When supplied at breed requirements there was no significant difference between birds fed OH-Methionine or DL-Methionine, in terms of laying performance or egg quality. The results of this study were presented in a poster at the 22nd ESPN (European Symposium in Poultry Nutrition) in June 2019 at Gdansk (Poland). You can find more in vivo studies on various species and information about the methodological approach to compare methionine sources, among other topics, in the new edition of Methiopedia. This Technical Reference Book of Methionine gathers nutritional and technological knowledge about methionine. Contact: Simon Green - Adisseo

Name Aliphos® Dical+ Properties
Crystalline dihydrate dicalcium phosphate, with a high chemical purity and proven P-digestibility
Aliphos® DCP
Dicalcium phosphate with a high P-digestibility for use in compound feed as well in mineral feed
Aliphos® Aliphos® Modical Monocal Windmill Dicalphos®
Monodicalcium phosphate that fits all species and all purposes
Monocalcium phosphate with a high P-digestibility and reverse Ca:P ratio
Dicalcium phosphate with a high mineral content, to be used in cattle mixtures, lick blocks
Windmill Monamphos®
A feed grade monoammonium phosphate with the highest P-content, for ruminants (NPN).
Windmill® Aquaphos
Because of the high P-solubility and P-digestibility especially recommended for use in aquaculture
Windmill Magnumphos®
Highly soluble and thus available magnesium, for ruminants
Exal - sepiolite clay- registered as a pellet binder, it is also used as
an inert carrier for premixes and mineral feed, due to its low reactivity. Also used because it’s high moisture absorption capacity to keep litter drier to reduce breast blisters and hock burn. SPLF is a further refined form of sepiolite that is used to improve the flow characteristics of liquid pig feeds.
Aliphos also offers micro-encapsulated nutrients for ruminants, like
very efficient rumen protected selenium (Se). Microencapsulated organic acid, essential oils and plants extracts are available for monogastrics. Glystar and Glystar Forte are the Aliphos ranges of pure metal (bis)-glycinates. These organically bound trace metals are highly stable, easily metabolized by animals with less interaction with other feed components. Tel : +31 10 4452777 Fax : +31 10 4452738
