Focus on Corporatewear ALEXANDRA

Suiting that behaves like workwear M

any roles – such as security, reception and retail management require a professional image – but need to stand up to tougher conditions than the average off-the-peg suiting. Alexandra has four different suiting ranges that are specifically designed to look smart but also withstand constant wear while retaining appearance and practicality. Take the stylish Icona Collection for instance – consisting of 17 individual garments for both men and women, that can be mixed together to create a capsule wardrobe for almost any role. Available from stock in chest 36in to 50in and waist 28in to 42in for men, and sizes 6-26 for women, Alexandra also offers a choice of different fits and lengths for optimum wearer comfort.

The collection is made from a fabric that cleverly combines polyester, viscose and elastane to produce a feel that is smooth and flexible but repels dirt and scuffing, thanks to a unique Teflon coating. The garments can also be machine washed at low temperatures.

The collection is available in four colourways – navy, pale gray, charcoal and black and the jackets have been designed to enable additional branding, such as embroidery to be applied, with zipped linings for easy access. Alexandra produces a wide range of shirting, accessories and shoes to complement its suiting ranges.

C

reating your wearable corporate look often starts with finding items in the colour you really want. But

sometimes other factors, such as how garments can be cleaned, are even more important. PF Conceptʼs Elevate brand has all bases covered via its Calgary and Crandall polo shirts.

With availability in 23

different colours, the Calgary offers outstanding choice when it comes to matching or complementing corporate colours. Itʼs hardly surprising that this model is PF Conceptʼs top-selling polo.

Meanwhile, hygiene and comfort are star features of 2017 newcomer the Crandall. Able to withstand a 60°C wash cycle, the Crandall opens up possibilities for organizations such as those in the healthcare sector where thorough cleaning is a prerequisite. The Crandall is available in five popular colours. Both models can be decorated via screen printing, embroidery and true edge transfer.

Knitwear in corporate colours he trend in

corporatewear is towards bespoke knitwear in corporate colours. So says Mike Carden, who looks after the sales and marketing for British knitwear manufacturer Balmoral Knitwear, alongside his colleague Ian Pollard. Mike adds: “We are increasingly being asked to match a shade from a companyʼs colour scheme by

our corporatewear customers. Generic knitwear is available in standard shades, but for a business to stand out from its competitors, it needs to have a specific range in corporate colours.”

As well as using Balmoralʼs UK manufacturing for smaller quantities, Mike and Ian can arrange quotations for off-shore manufacturing.

Minimum quantities for bespoke shades vary with the yarn type (e.g. 50% cotton 50% acrylic or 50% wool 50% acrylic) and with the style of garment, but often a minimum of 120 garments can be offered. Lead times from the UK are usually about six weeks and from off-shore about eight to 10 weeks for special shades. “We can offer standard cut-and-sew knitwear and also fine, fully-fashioned knitwear, particularly popular for ladiesʼ styles,” Mike concludes.
