DST – the perfect recipe for transfer printing success

S

ince 2013 many companies in the UK and Ireland have benefited from being introduced to the DST system

of transfer printing.

Introduced into this country from Denmark by Global Print Solutions this streamlined system combines the benefits of traditional screen printing with those of digital to produce exceptional results across a wide range of substrates. The new soft feel powder by DST enables full photographic transfers to be produced using just one screen quickly and cost effectively. Two hundred A4 sized transfers or up to 1,600 A7 transfers can be produced in just one hour from receipt of artwork through to completion. With the demand for reusable bags booming since the governmentʼs 5p levy this process can be used to produce the high quality complex designs that todayʼs consumers demand. The superb feel and stretch of transfers produced using the DST system is ideal for a huge range of clothing from school wear and sports kit through to work wear and promotional items. Substrates such as nylon, polyester, cotton or non-woven fabrics are no problem when using the DST system. The transfers are sharp, bright and durable standing up to regular machine washing. Such is the adaptability of the system that in just one pass a single screen can contain a range of individual designs contained in one basic outline such as for the differentiation of school houses or teams for example. The screen stays the same, the design is changed digitally and the net result is a range of diverse and personalised options for the customer. Print quality is outstanding compared to anything currently produced with screen-printing/offset methods alone. When durability, stretch and soft feel characteristics can be combined with complex photographic images in bright vibrant colours using a cost effective system with just one screen allowing ultimate customer control then you have the perfect recipe for success. DST combines the essential ingredients using a simple method for guaranteed results every time. This makes for satisfied customers and happy printers who find their business and profit margins growing in equal measure.
