The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona(CZFB)ispromotingthesecond edition of Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW),whichwillbeheld fromOctober5 to 8. With an expanded programthat dou- bles the topics covered in its first edition inordertoanalysetheeconomic reality in greater detail, BNEW has established itself as an international benchmark for theneweconomyandarecoveryengine. BNEW’s second edition will feature ten


topics that will address different sectors and subjectsonfuture challenges, with a very clear focus on innovation, talent and sustainability. Thus, apart from the five topics covered in 2020 (Logistics, Digital Industry, Ecommerce, Economic Zones and Real Estate), five new areas of a more transversal nature will be added this year: Mobility, Sustainability, Talent, Science and City, all of them under the new economy common denominator. is supported by a unique platform fromwhich participants fromall over the worldwill be able to fully follow the contents, which will take place on sets located in different emblematic buildings in Barcelona and will be broadcasted simultaneously.

national component since, in addition to hav- ing speakers from all over the world, there werenearly11,000registrants from111coun- tries, reaching an internationality of 31%. In addition, with respect to the previous edition, BNEWplans to expand the number of speak- ers from389to800. In thisway, the event reaf- firms itself as a reference space that boosts talent and the development of the new econ- omyin the business sector. The CZFB, organiser of the event, has


signed an alliance with Servihabitat according to which the entity will once again be BNEW’s main sponsor. The CEO of the servicer, Iheb Nafaa, highlights that “oursectorisessentialto achieveafullyeconomyreactivation.Sincethe Covid-19outbreakandinrecentmonths,real estatehasproventobeoneofthemainengines oftheeconomyandakeyelementtobeableto returntopre-pandemiclevelsofactivity”. Likewise, the Port of Barcelona has also


joined the CZFB to support the development of an event that has already set a precedent in the sector, contributing with a great inno- vation factor. The CZFB has also entrusted the BVillage


unique digital tool to enhance the B2B facet, where each company can present its innova- tionsto all participantsandthusenhancebusi- ness opportunities, in addition to expanding the network of national and international con- tacts. On the other hand, the Barcelona Start-up Innovation Hub will also promote 72 entrepreneurial and innovative projects that operate in any of its thematic areas. Last year 52 start-ups attended it, among which five were awarded (one from each sector present at the event) with the Best Innovation awards, whichwere delivered by King Felipe VI and the President of theGovernment, Pedro Sánchez. Likewise, thanks to the use of artificial


intelligence, all participants will have a list of people related to their needs with whomthey may contact directly in order to connect sup- ply anddemand. Registration for the event is now open,
