LOWER PRICE A. Iron Filings in Sprinkler Pot
Iron filings pre-packed in cardboard ‘sprinkler pots’. Contents of pot: 225g. E8A47351
B. Iron Filings Bubble
Suitable for more simple magnetic field plotting experiments in place of loose iron filings. It comprises a shallow, sealed, clear plastic vessel containing a quantity of high quality fine iron filings.
Can be used on an overhead projector for demonstrations. In use, the filings are distributed evenly over the base of the bubble by shaking or tapping. The bubble is then placed over the magnet and gently tapped to permit the filings to align themselves in the magnetic field.
Dimensions: 80 x 12mm, diameter x depth. E8A47363
each £1.38 C. Magnetic Field Demonstrator
The Magnetic Field Demonstrator comprises a set of four transparent plastic plates 153 x 76 x 6mm. Each plate has a matrix of 98 (14 x 7) small circular chambers, each chamber containing an iron rod and functioning effectively as a plotting compass. The plates may be arranged in various ways, e.g. as a single large two dimensional surface, as faces of a cube etc. and in this way may be used to show configuration of a magnetic field in one or two dimensions. The transparent nature of the plates also make them suitable for use on an overhead projector.
E8A47569 set £23.95 D. Axial and Lateral Search Coil
The Search Coil consists of 5000 turns of very fine copper wire on a bobbin fixed at one end of fibreglass board (Electrically insulated and non magnetic) and on the other end two 4 mm socket terminals are fitted. It can be used to determine field strengths or flux density inside the air gap of magnets or solenoids. A d.c. or a.c. signal can be applied to the search coils to study the effect of interacting magnetic fields. The Axial coil has the coil mounted with its axis parallel to the axis of the PCB board. The Lateral coil has the coil mounted with its axis at 90 degrees to the axis of the PCB board.

E8H26291 each £1.38 F. Magnetic Filings in Plastic Tube
This giant magnetic tube has a double wall with iron filings between the two layers to show a 3 dimensional view of the magnetic field around the magnet supplied. The magnet is removable and the filings are safely encased. Size: 130 x 90mm.
