Sheer rim glasses feature a fine and beadless edge which has been produced to give optimal contact with the mouth enabling wine to be directed to specific tasting areas.
WHAT IS TEMPERED GLASSWARE? Tempering is a thermal process of heating a glass close to melting point then cooling it rapidly. This causes the outer surface of the glass to cool and shrink faster than the inside of the glass wall, creating a tight skin. This closes the many hairline fractures that naturally occur in regular annealed glass and make a vastly stronger product.
HOW STRONG IS TEMPERED GLASS? Tempered glass is 5 times stronger. This is known as Mechanical Shock Resistance, making a cost effective choice.
ARE ALL GLASSES FULLY TEMPERED? All glassware with a “T” placed on it are fully tempered from rim to foot both inside and out. Not all manufacturers temper to the same high standards.
SEAMLESS FLAME POLISHED STEM No seam between the bowl and stem, ensuring a more enjoyable drinking experience and an
aesthetically pleasing glass.
HEAT RESISTANT Thermal shock tested and resistant to 135O
withstand changes in temperature from hot to cold.
C and can
RIM TO FOOT TEMPERED Fully tempered glasses are resistant to mechanical shocks, extending the life of the product by five times, compared with non tempered glass.
IS TEMPERED GLASSWARE MORE RESISTANT TO TEMPERATURE CHANGES? Fully Tempered items are resistant to 135O
temperature changes. This is tested by taking an item of glass from the oven at 135O
C and then plunging it into cold water. The glassware will not shatter or break.
Strong and durable, shock tested and capable of industrial dishwasher cycles, while maintaining clarity.
WHAT DOES SHEER RIM MEAN? Sheer rim glasses feature a fine and beadless edge which has been produced to give optimal contact with the mouth, enabling a superior drinking experience.
