consignment of wind turbine blades that arrived at the port of Vancouver, USA, in Washington state during June 2019 comprehensively smashed the


blades in one go – way above the previous record of 156 blades on one ship. “That is probably the highlight of the


year for us,” said Alex Strogen, the port’s chief commercial officer. It took four days to unload the shipment and several months to deliver the blades by truck to their destinations, he said. Wind energy traffic soared at the port last


year. The June delivery was the third similar consignment unloaded at Vancouver in the year, and was followed by another in August, which carried 102 blades. That brought the tally of blades through the port to 381 in the year – with one more shipment of blades for the Marengo project on the horizon. Marengo has been in operation since
