Matola project FID expected in 2020 T


otal and its partners, including Gigajoule and Matola Gas Company (MCG), hope to take a final investment decision (FID) on a


USD3.15 billion LNG project in Mozambique in mid-2020, according to media reports. The project will see a floating storage and


regasification unit moored in Matola harbour, Maputo. It will be connected to a gas-fired power


Neart na Gaoithe contracts awarded


Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has signed a firm order to supply wind turbines for the 448 MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind power project being developed by EDF Renewables in Scotland. The company will install 54 of


its SG 8.0-167 DD offshore turbines. The project should come online by 2023. EDF Renewables awarded


Saipeman EPCI contract for 54 steel foundation jackets, two steel jackets for the offshore electrical substations, and the transportation and installation of the relevant topsides. This is the first turnkey


project awarded to Saipem in the offshore wind energy sector. The jackets will be


manufactured at a Saipem- owned yard and in fabrication facilities located in Scotland. The jackets will be placed on


piles at depths ranging from 40-60 m. The crane vessel Saipem 7000 will carry out offshore

Permit granted for Kochang


The provincial government in South Gyeongsang (South Korea) has issued a permit for the Kochang gold mine, which is being developed by Southern Gold and Bluebird Merchant Ventures. The approval is subject to
