Vietnam win for Vestas Vestaswill develop a nearshore wind energy project in Hòa Bình, Vietnam. The contract includes the supply and supervision of the installation of 13 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines. Turbine installation is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021. Vestas also secured its first V136- 4.2 MW order in South Korea for the Cheongsong Myeonbong Mt Wind Power project from EPC contractor Kumho Industrial. The project is in North Gyeongsang Province. Turbine installation is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.


Senvion asset sale complete Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has completed the acquisition of Senvion’s European onshore services business. SGRE is also progressing with the acquisition of Ria Blades, which owns and operates Senvion’s wind turbine blade production facility in Portugal.


WEDF in 60-turbine order Russia’s Wind Energy Development Fund (WEDF) has placed a 252 MW order with Vestas for three wind energy projects located in the Kalmykiya and the Rostov regions. Sixty V126-4.2 MW units will be delivered to the area.


GEH inks decom contract GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) has been awarded a contract by Comprehensive Decommissioning International (CDI) to decommission the reactor internals and reactor pressure vessel at the Pilgrim nuclear power station in Massachusetts.


EIB grants Iberdrola loan Iberdrola has obtained a EUR690 million (USD764.4 million) financial package from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to invest in Brazil and Spain. EUR250 million (USD277 million) is earmarked to finance the construction of 15 wind farms in Brazil, developed by Iberdrola’s Brazilian subsidiary Neoenergia. EUR440 million (USD487.4 million) will be used to bolster the company’s distribution networks in Spain.

Oostflakkee deal Enerconwill supply eight E-126 EP3/4 MW wind turbines for the Oostflakkee project in the Netherlands. The order includes turnkey installation and construction of a 50 kV transmission substation, and maintenance of the WECs during the operating phase.
