Port Saïd ro-ro investment Bolloré Transport & Logistics, Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) plan to invest USD150 million to develop and operate a ro-ro terminal in Port Saïd, Egypt. The consortium will use the investment to acquire equipment and develop infrastructure at the site, with the goal of creating a terminal capable of handling 800,000 vehicles per year.


Multipurpose terminal opens at Esbjerg port T


he port of Esbjerg in Denmark has opened its new multipurpose terminal and the first cargoes have been handled safely.

Tyne invests to boost offshore wind sector


The port of Tyne in the UK is investing nearly GBP10 million (USD12.9 million) in the Tyne Dock Enterprise Park to support the offshore wind energy sector. The site provides access to


deepsea berths and is within 100 nautical miles of the


Dogger Bank, Hornsea, Seagreen and Sofia wind farms, said the port. As part of the investment,


the port has reclaimed 30 acres (12.14 ha) of land. Matt Beeton, port of Tyne ceo, said: “Offshore wind is a


sector in which the north east [of the UK] has particular strengths and an area of strategic importance for the regional economy, with the potential to build on our already important offshore energy and subsea cluster.”


Zuidnatie adds capacity with two MHCs For bulk and breakbulk


Belgium’s Zuidnatie Breakbulk has added two eco-efficient Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes (MHC) at its terminal in Antwerp. For empty container


handling and heavy loads up to 100 tons (90.7 tonnes), Zuidnatie has opted for a Model 3 GHMK 3405 in the two-rope variant. It will be used at the company’s facilities at Quay 624.
