Since late August of 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya fled to the country to escape an outbreak of violence in neighbouring Myanmar. UNHCR is working with the Bangladeshi Government to provide Rohingya refugees with protection, food, clean water, shelter, health care, trauma counselling and reunification for separated families.
