A

delaide’s international passengers increased by 11% to 950,000 following a 13.6% increase in international capacity. This was

thanks to the inaugural flights from China Southern Airlines in December 2016 and Fiji Airways in June 2017. Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines continued to add supplementary flights into the Adelaide market during peak months. Domestic passengers grew by 1.5% to 7.1 million through incremental airline capacity additions on trunk routes, in addition to the new Sunshine Coast and Avalon services. Adelaide Airport achieved a successful 2016-17 with total passengers reaching 8.1 million, an increase of 2.5% year on year. Adelaide Airport is only seven kilometres from the

city’s central business district. The new flights have opened up significant tourism, education and business links as well as visiting friends and relatives traffic for South Australia. The vision of Adelaide Airport is to be a top tier Airport Business Centre in Asia Pacific, recognised for delivering exceptional outcomes to our customers, partners, shareholders and community. Parafield Airport, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adelaide Airport, is a major world standard international training airport.
