More than 10 million passengers a year and potential growth in both the business and leisure markets puts the airport at the core of Japan’s aviation market

L

ocated in the heart of Japan, Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya, serves more than

10 million passengers a year. Accessible via land, sea and air, Centrair is the gateway to Shoryudo Rising Dragon region, a top tourist destination. The airport operates a quality service 24/7, 365 days a year and has won the World’s Best Regional Airport award 2 years in a row. Chubu is the country’s manufacturing hub

and a considerable number of world-class Japanese companies’ headquarters and factories are located locally. The airport offers the Fly Centrair initiative, which targets business travellers and is run in cooperation with local government and economic organisations to prioritise flying overseas direct from Centrair, rather than from Haneda, Narita or Kansai airports. This drives business demand and higher

yields for airlines flying to and from Centrair. Growth will be driven by various such as

completion of a specialised terminal for low- cost carriers in 2019 and the growing number of tourist attractions like Legoland Japan.
