JOIN THE PGE/SOLVE STARLIGHT PARADE AT THE PORTLAND ROSE FESTIVAL
Enjoy the fun, and help keep this year’s Portland Rose Festival one of the “Cleanest & Greenest in the World” by distributing trash bags along the PGE/ SOLVE Starlight Parade route. For almost 25 years, PGE employees and retirees, and their families and friends have been rolling up their sleeves to help with the parade cleanup. This time around, we've taken it a step further! Instead of trucks, our volunteers will use bikes to help distribute the trash bags, eliminating vehicle emissions. The parade is on Saturday, June 2, from 9 to 11 p.m. You can sign up through myCommunity to volunteer before and after the event. For more information, contact Michele Keever at Michele.Ke

The Clackamas River flows into the reservoir above our North Fork hydro-generation plant, and the water slows and creates inviting conditions for salmon to spawn and juvenile fish to grow. The problem was there wasn't enough cool, shady habitat in this transitional area for the young fish to hide from predators and grow to adulthood. The solution? Give Mother Nature a hand. We teamed up with the U.S. Forest Service, Clackamas River Basin Council and other partners to help young
fish thrive. The project involved designing and constructing wood habitat structures using nearly 600 logs along a 4,100-foot stretch of the Clackamas River. The completed arrangements, which look like natural log jams, create cool, shady “fish nurseries” that have allowed schools of juvenile and adult Chinook salmon, Coho salmon and steelhead to stay safe.
