NEWS FROM THE BRITISH LUBRICANTS FEDERATION ISSUE No 1
Travelling around to various Federa- tion functions over the last 12 months, I have realised that quite a large num- ber of the Members are often not aware of the work and technical ability of the Council and it's functions . Of course, information has always been available through the B.L.F. Review which is sent to Member Companies from time to time but here, I think, lies a problem, as this information is not always passed on to other Members within their com- pany.
Communication is a prime ingredient in any business if it is to progress and it was with this fact in mind that your Council introduced this , our first issue of 'LUBE' , to let you know what is hap- pening within the Federation and the industry as a whole. By posting anum- ber of copies to each Member Com- pany, the message will "reach the other parts that the BLF Review at present doesn't reach". The Review will still be sent to Member Companies but will contain only the minutes of the various

business meetings of the Federation. It is our intention to produce "LUBE" on a regular basis, not to be an unin- spiring periodical but to communicate interesting, factual and up to the min- ute matters within our industry. Some of the matters needing our considera- tion are Chlorinated Additives and the forthcoming regulations on Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). I sincerely hope it will broaden the general awareness of the Federation's activities and that you will find this is - sue interesting. If 'LUBE' is to grow in a positive w..ay, we do need support and information from the Branches and Mem- bers on a regular basis. Future editions of 'LUBE' will contain a "Wants and Sales " column, and should any Mem- ber wish to take advantage of this please will you send information direct to our Secretary John Glenister. Copy date for the next issue is 1st May. I can assure you that we will do our part to print as much information as we can.
