Virginia’s ‘Fortune 500’ list continues to grow

publicly traded companies in the U.S. based on gross revenue, says Virginia now has 23 corporations on the list, up from 21 compa- nies in 2016. Two companies not on the 2016 list made


the cut this year: Reston-based Leidos Hold- ings and Arlington-based CalAtlantic Group. T e majority of the Virginia-based companies on this year’s Fortune 500 moved up in rank- ing from last year. T e corporations rising in rank included Richmond-based WestRock, a corrugated packaging company, up 61 spots; Reston-based homebuilder NVR, jumping 52 slots; and Chesapeake-based discount retailer Dollar Tree, moving up 44 positions.
